Grandma Speak! provides the ultimate experience to connect the lives of Elders and Youth through Reciprocal Storytelling.
Grandma Speak! is a new rising 501c3 nonprofit organization created to bridge the generation gap between elders and youth through heritage reciprocal storytelling. Founded in Decatur, Georgia in 2019, we hold storytelling workshops and special events, host a bi-monthly podcast and share stories via a monthly email. We are excited to connect and inspire the greater Atlanta metropolitan area through heritage storytelling.
At Grandma Speak! we are driven to record the history of elders and youth through storytelling. We believe the preservation of memories inspires mental and physical enrichment in the lives of all who share with us and that everything we see, everything we dream and everything we do begins with a story. We hope you will consider sharing yours with us!
After the births of her grandchildren, Joyce Green turned her attention to children’s books to record her life’s stories as part of her legacy. Joyce holds a BA in Home Economics with a double minor in Child Development and African Studies (Brooklyn College), an MS in Hospitality & Tourism Mgmt (FIU), and did doctoral studies in HR and Ethical Leadership under Hospitality & Tourism Mgmt (Va Tech).
